Questions, answered

Does this certify me?

No. You earn a certificate of completion that documents formal training. Under SNT-TC-1A, CP-189 and NAS 410, your employer decides qualification and certification through its written practice.

When do I verify my ID?

Just before your first final exam. You can start training without it. With Persona it takes about 2 minutes. You can also upload photos of your ID for our team to review: usually same business day, Mon to Fri.

Is Visual Testing free?

Yes, for new students right now. Visual Testing Levels I and II are free with no credit card. Sign up for Visual Testing by 11:59 PM Eastern on Oct 31 and the course stays free.

Can I get a refund?

Full refund if you ask within your first 30 minutes of training. How does my employer check my certificate?

Every certificate has a public link and a QR code. The page shows your name, the course, your hours, the date issued and whether the certificate is valid. It never shows scores. Employers can scan the QR code, or enter the verification code (the 16 characters at the end of the certificate's link) at ndtacademy.com/verify-certificate. The Certificate ID printed on the certificate is a different number and can't be checked there.

Can NDT hours be documented as AWS CWI PDHs?

Yes, as distance learning under AWS QC1 Section 16. Each contact hour printed on your certificate of formal training may be documented as 1 PDH toward CWI 9-year recertification, for courses with an AWS B5.1 subject mapping on record. AWS requires that certificate plus a course description; the AWS PDH evidence PDF for each course provides both. At least 20 of the 80 PDHs must fall in the last 3 years of the 9-year period. Final determination of PDH eligibility and acceptance remains with the American Welding Society.
