NDT Basic reviews materials, manufacturing processes, discontinuities and the major NDT methods. It provides a foundation for the ASNT Basic examination; it is not a substitute for method-specific preparation or the certification program's eligibility requirements.

Can a beginner use the NDT Basic course?

The course can help a new technician understand materials and compare NDT methods. If your immediate goal is a particular inspection job, use the beginner guide and review the required method course with your employer.

Does passing this course award ASNT Level III certification?

No. NDT Academy issues course-completion records. ASNT determines eligibility, administers its certification examinations and awards its credentials separately.
